Fibre optic cables are the main backbone links between datacomms cabinets and equipment rooms, building to building and where there is a need for large network data transfers.
This is ideal for long distances and high bandwidth. It can cover distances of up to 2000 metres for OS1 and 10000 metres for OS2.
This is generally used for shorter distances. It can cover distances up to 300 metres for OM3 and 550 metres for OM4.
Our preferred method for fibre termination is a Fusion Splicer which uses pre-terminated pigtails. This is the fastest method and gives the lowest db loss for maximum performance.
For our fibre installations in Bristol and Bath, we have been very fortunate to work with many Schools, new builds and care homes.
